I know how you feel
by: Machelle

I just lost my best friend Shadow 2 days ago. He was only 4 years old and no matter how we tried, he just would not stay in the house. He too was hit by a car. I came here to look for other people to share my grief with and who wouldn't belittle my feelings by saying "it was only a cat". I never knew I could feel such grief for a cat, but he was so special. I have not felt his presence yet but I'm open to him paying me a visit. I would find it very comforting. Our dog paid me a visit on the day he passed on and it really helped. Of course we would give anything to have them back, but to get a sign from them helps let us know they haven't forgotten about us.

We feel your pain
by: Steve

I am coming out of where you are --(Mitze Eyes of Blue in poetry)I still miss her but with talking to people and reading various sites I am coming to terms with it. I still miss her so much and would love to see her again but her time had come and I (and all who have to make the decision)could not let her suffer. It will take some time but there will be a time that you think more of the happy times then the end.

As far as the deal with the devil, in my conversations with my father who has been through this with his dog, he added that the devil takes joy in the misery and the pain that we go through. When you come to terms with it you will be able to celebrate the life of your loved one which will far outweigh the end. I am sorry for your loss and good luck to you.

I'm So Sorry
by: Hilary

Your loss is felt equally by everyone who has ever loved and lost a pet...

Sometimes I wonder if we sign a contract with God or the Devil when we let a pet into our hearts and lives. It's like your payment of pain is equal to the depth of your love.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and please know you are not alone.... I would suggest creating a Pet Loss Diary.. It has really helped me in my situation. It will be two weeks tomorrow, July 17th for me, and the pain is still just as strong.
