Your Pet Loss Stories

'Valentina'

by Assia
(Miami, Florida)

Valentina was hit by a car at 4 in the morning. She wasn’t my cat, but my best friend’s cat. The story is that my best friend wasn’t taking care of the cat anymore, so I decided to feed her, give her water, and pet her when she needed it.

She used to sleep outside and some days with me, on the bed. I really got attached to her. She was very affectionate and used to give me massages with her paws, the best cat ever.

When I’d come to work, she would wait for me to park my car, and follow me to my place.

I buried her, put a candle and incense and I added flowers on top. I’ll never forget her.

Valentina was a special cat, and will be in my heart forever. I own two cats, Mago and Lola, and I enjoy them every day. They are my babies.

People say that cats don’t care about us. They do. Cats are fascinating animals. They look into your eyes, and it is like they are sending you a message.
