Oh yes she brought joy to our lives in such a very short time. She was a rescue a dog that was used as a bait dog. Unimaginable. She was smart she could sit, stay, come within a week and was learning to fetch and shake within the next few weeks. She had a smile on her face and loved to cuddle in bed with us. She loved to explore looking for some reason for some tasty morsel of a bug. We have plenty of land and live on a dirt road. Who would of thought!! We were learning to play fetch.
It only took one minute or two I took my eyes off her to get a drink. I came back out to hear a screaming Jo Jo. She had been hit by a speeding car down our less traveled road. They didn't even stop they saw us running toward her but they kept going! Yes I feel it is my fault. I should have not gone in and left her in front. She didn't know any better she had not gone that far close to the road before. But she was a baby she was curious. I held her all the way to the emergency telling her to hold on to no avail.
How to grieve this. We as a family are devastated with her loss! She brought a profound amount of joy to us. We have brought her home and have a grave for her on our land. The children had to deal with the loss of their first family member.
You see she was not just a pet as some out there say. This only happened last night. The emotions are so overwhelming. I have read some of your stories. I am thankful for those because of the enormous feelings of guilt I have of losing her.
