You were my best friend for many years
Now I remember you through many tears
I wouldn't change a thing
For all the joy you would always bring.

There is an empty space upon my lap
Where for many long years you sat
I can still feel you there
At times it's hard to bear.

It broke my heart to say goodbye
But in my mind I knew you would fly
Straight to the doggy park in the sky.

A young dog once more who knows
what wonderful things are in store
