Our Angel Shadow

I have always believed in angels and have an angel in every window of our home and on shelves. They just guide us on our journey in life.

We rescued Shadow our black lab from a shelter in 2005. they told us he was about two years old then. I wasn't so sure I wanted him; but for some reason he picked us. He had issues; but was a wonderful dog and a great watch dog.

As Labs commonly have a hip problem; Shadow's hind quarters were not getting any better. We realized it in April that this was not going to be easy. So we started to make plans.

On the day the vet came for Shadow in July 2014; he was laying with me on the floor and he could not get up. However, his eyes were in constant motion. I do believe that those angels that I asked for guidance in helping him cross over did come to greet him.

The vet said this was the most peaceful crossing he had ever witnessed. (Of course, I didn't know that since I never knew there were bad ones). After seeing something in the room and before the vet came in the house; Shadow's eyes were all over the room. He definitely saw something that morning. He passed with a little smile on his face and a small sigh with me still petting and holding his huge body. So my angels came for my angel Shadow and I thank them for crossing him over so peacefully.

I thank Forever Remembered Crematory for being there or us for his cremation. They will pick your dog up from the vet or your house and you will have private cremation and/or viewing. They were my angels for being there.

Shadow will forever be remembered as my furry angel. Isn't it funny but there was an angel over his shoulder in one of the last pictures taken of him too.
