Our "Fur"st Born, Prince

It's been almost two weeks since you crossed Rainbow Bridge. I still cry like it just happened and your Dodzie and lil brother Duke, are very lost as well. I'm so sorry that you got sick and we tried all we knew how to nurse you to health.

We rushed you to the ER vet but you'd already passed away about 3 am. I know you were looking in my eyes and I was holding you tightly as you took your last breath. Just reliving those moments make my heart even heavier. I'm just glad your family was surrounding you and I was holding you....you didn't look scared because we were there.

You are such a good boy and I kept telling you that and we love you. I still remember when we went to get you, you were only a puppy. Feisty and carefree described our Prince. You barked, loved the wind in your face...I can still see you running like the wind or chewing my ear phones...begging for a treat with your under bite showing.

I've written you letters and memories to go in your memory jar. Duke is doing some of the same things you used to do now, except he still sleeps a lot. Your dad misses his football buddy and I miss my shadow, alarm system and welcome home wags. Duke misses his big brother and his better half, you always gave him confidence.

I still feel your presence with us and I know you're a fur angel who's always watching us..you gave us almost 7 years of unconditional love, laughter, and comfort.
