'Gabrielle & Alfie'

Always Something There To Remind Me

I have just been tidying out the top 'dump' drawer and found a slip of paper 'DON'T FEED THE CATS - ALFIE HAS TO HAVE ANAESTHETIC' from the fateful day I took him for a tooth clean and inspection.

It takes me straight back to my guilt feelings. If only I hadn't taken him, they wouldn't have done the biopsy and he would have lived a longer and better life. He displayed absolutely no symptoms of anything other than the bad breath, which was not great and we could probably have lived with. Instead he came back damaged and traumatised from the anaesthetic and spending so long alone in the vets.
