'Buttons Please Come Back To Me'

by Annette Hunter
(Donegal, Ireland)

Buttons and a beautiful daffodil

Buttons and a beautiful daffodil

I still call out to Buttons

But she does not come running up to me

I can still see her everywhere I go

Buttons will never ever fade in my memory

I am struggling through each hour

I look at all her photos, every single one

My tears cry out "oh Buttons please come back to me"

Without Buttons by my side I am in a world where there is no Sun
