Your Pet Loss Poems

'The Hole in my Heart'

Though you were suffering, I wanted to ignore
Cause I knew how much tears my face would pour
We are family, I'm not ready to be alone
Cause it's not the same without you in my home

I wasn't selfish, I had to let you go
But now my heart feels like there is a huge hole
Now I sit here, feeling all alone
Petting your hair, left on that comb

While tears are heavily streaming down my face
Thinking back of the good ol' days
Thinking of all the times when you were by my side
Salem, I can't believe that you have died

Luckily, my thoughts of you will last forever
I'll never forget you Salem, never ever
And when we reunite outside the pearly gates
I'll be so happy to once again see your face

And the hole in my heart will finally be healed
Then we can go on and make one final deal
We can promise to never leave each other's side
So watch over me, until we reunite...
