My sweet affectionate Crackers passed away April 16, 2021.
He was a baby when we first saw one another. Over the decades he saw many old dogs and a cat go away in the car one day and never return. He would look for them and wonder what happened to them and why I was so upset.
Forty years passed and the day came when it was his time. He had a stroke. He was paralyzed on one side and climbed into my arms. I kissed his head and told him I loved him.
I was not allowed to go into the animal hospital due to covid rules. I handed him over to a stranger and never saw him alive again. His dead body was brought out to the car. It was horrible not to be with him. It was 8 weeks ago today. The grief has been overwhelming at times.
