I am so sorry for your loss. It is terrible when we don't even have enough time to say goodbye. You obviously gave her a wonderful life and loved her very much. Please try and keep your good memories of her in your head and maybe that will help. Your Jem really was a very very special dog. You were blessed to have her.

Oh Frank,
I read your story and I cried, what suffering your lovely Jem must have gone through and you and your family the same.
You did everything you could have for her and she knew that, your wife did what you wanted to do, be with her at the end, but at times its not cowardice, its just not being able to witness our life long friend dying before our very eyes and not being able to do anything about it.
Hold on to your memories of your dear Jem and know that she knew she was truly loved and always will be forever more until you are together again.
