'Our Beloved Toby-boy'

by Doris Travis
(KY)

My Toby-boy, a Westie that I received for my 60th birthday, sadly passed 3 weeks and a day ago today - He was 13 1/2 years old. Words cannot express how much I and my family miss him. Every place I look, I see him - he was constantly with each of us, in whatever room that might be. The grief is still so fresh and raw. I am so thankful that I found this website - it is good to read of other pet lovers and their stories - and all the info contained on this site.

Those who have never had a precious pet, as I did not till I was 60, cannot understand the depth of grief we feel - he was a member of our family and my "baby boy" from the first time I saw him when he looked like a tiny white mickey mouse with ears that overpowered his tiny body till the last time I held him with his head on my shoulder (like I used to hold my babies) and sang to him and told him how much I loved him and how much we would miss him (on the day we let him go).

We all said our special and private good-byes to him - and am so glad we had those final precious hours at home to say good-bye - till we meet again at Rainbow Bridge -
