'The Cat Who Looked Like A Cow'

by Julia
(UK)

My little baby had to be put to sleep on Monday 13.35. He was a rescue cat and his previous owners abused him badly to the stage he had taken damage to his stomach and was never able to eat normal food or use the litter tray the normal way. When I adopted him I had been told he will not live that long, maybe 3 years with luck.

Monday at 13.35 I had my baby 7 years. He was as most people see their pets as special, he behaved more like human than cat. He looked like a tiny cow due to his white and black spots.

I can't describe how much I miss him, he was so special he brought me out to be the person I am and not the scared abused girl I was. I miss him and I can't get my head round it yet. It's fresh but I just wish he would of been able to recover. 7 years of my life he shared the bed with me, the bathroom and every minute I was at home. I love him more than myself and just hope he now has peace.

I don't know I will ever forget how much love he gave me and I just would like that other people see this the same way. I'm at work and seeing his pictures makes me sad. I try to find comfort out of the fact he was in pain, but I'm sure if I had the choice I would rather hack my own leg off if that would give him back to me.

Button was a little boy who just wanted love and I was able to give it to him and I don't regret it.
