Having a beloved pet euthanized is one of the hardest decsions that one ever has to make. But it is also one of the most courageous loving you unfortunately must make. Rocky did not have a quality of life that he once enjoyed. I believe that you did the right thing and Rocky is now running pain - free at Rainbow Bridge. Pets do not fear death; only humans do. You gave Rocky a wonderful life; talk to people that will support you in your grief. I am a volunteer with a pet loss support group if you need someone to 'talk' to.
