Sudden loss

I have experienced the sudden loss of a beloved dog. It is shocking and cruel and I understand fully why you feel she should have told you.

A friend said animals try to protect their loved ones. At the moment I am coping with the knowledge that my beloved Alfie has an incurable illness. One of my difficulties that I know and he doesn't as it was a premonition that led me to take him to the vet. I feel guilty that I look at him now as marked for death, so I am struggling to enjoy the rest of his life.

Pet lovers just mourn their lovely companions whatever the circumstances. We have to accept that and comfort one another. I do hope you get all the comfort and consolation you need.
