the right thing
by: Joci

My husband Mark and I had our cat put to sleep on the same day as Mo. Miffy had gotten really ill and like you, I really struggled with knowing if it was the right time or if I was even making the right decision. What really helped me make the decision was hearing her cry at night in the living room because she was in so much pain and felt so sick. Ending the suffering of our precious kitties was one of the most loving things we could do for them. My heart goes out to you. Sometimes the right thing doesn't feel right at all but it is.

Mo and Mitsou
by: Celine

Hello Becky,

Yes, you did the right thing. I did the same thing for Mitsou, nine years ago (see my Bridge Story - The Silver Ring). She was 18 and very sick like Mo. Letting a loved pet go is the ultimate gesture of love. In fact, when we make that painful decision it's like we accept to suffer so they won't. We give them peace and we take the grief in return.

And I can assure you that Mo knew that and that he loves you even more because you honoured your connection and took your responsibilities up until the very end, with love and courage.

I still miss Mitsou, her place will never be filled. But I know I did the right thing. She counted on me to do the best for her, and I did.

Today, when I look into Lili's eyes, the lovely lady cat that's been with me for 8 years now, I see that she knows that I will never let her be miserable and that I will do everything to make her life a safe and wonderful experience. She trusts me completely, as Mitsou did. I believed Mo felt the same way about you.

You are a blessing for your pets, they are very lucky to have you.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Bless you Becky, Mo and Badger.

Hugs xxx

Celine and Miss Lili.
