'Moonpie the Rat'

Me with my Moonpie

You were always the shy one of the three. And the smallest - we knew when we got you that you were special. You were slow to learn but loved to climb. When you were younger, you had to run to keep up with your brothers and often became tired.
You died in your sleep, which was best I suppose, cuddled up to your brothers is your bed. When I found you I was stunned, as I still am today but you have left a hole in all of us which cannot be filled.

I planted a bulb - a snowdrop - for you on your grave. One of the most beautiful and sweet smelling wild flowers - it will never do you justice - you were the kindest, most sweet natured rat ever with a heart huge for your small self.

We all love you Moonpie and will miss you terribly.
