My Feisty One!

I remember the call from my kids "Mom Brandon found a kitten on side of road." My words "We have two, I can not afford another, we can not keep it" but I did stop by the store to get a bottle and milk!

I get home to this tiny thing that fit in the palm of my hand. Her eyes gummed shut, fleas so bad she was bleeding and an obvious lung infection. I knew in my heart I could not give up this tiny thing but I went to the shelter any way.

In line holding her in a towel, she was asleep on my chest. I looked at her and said "I love you already, lets go home". Took her to the vet the following day. She weighed 6 oz. Too young for antibiotics for lung infection and too young for flea stuff. So it was baths with Dawn soap to paralyze and pick off fleas.

She slept next to my head on the pillow every night. Hearing her poor breath of rattling. I prayed every night that she survived long enough to be old enough for medication. Well she did make it! She was such a fighter and a feisty one at that!

My Jada continued to sleep on my head and pillow for 17 years. For two years she battled kidney disease and did great with meds and fluids until a couple nights ago and I knew she was in pain. I made the decision to let her go on 12/13/16. She showed her feistiness to the end. After her relaxation shot she still hissed a bit. (she was always a handful at the vet!) Once completely relaxed she passed quickly with final shot.

A funny thing about my Jada that I have never seen in a cat is that in her 17 years of life I have heard her let out a single meow twice. At the vet since she hisses and growls every time, the vet said "Oh her vocals are fine, she just doesn't have anything to say!"

RIP my precious one. I miss you so much not being on my head as we would sleep.
