On The Edge

My Siberian Husky, ("Balto" Age:13) just last night was rushed to the Animal hospital. Turns out the lump on his chest, which numerous doctors reassured was a fat deposit, was actually a tumor... (it's still being tested for cancer).

But this growth was very invasive, and in order to remove it they had to remove 1/3-2/3 of his chest muscles. They also noted he had a bad infection and a small liver. He is in severe pain, and this stubborn old man won't stop kicking. They didn't think he'd make the night. Death is on his door but he's not answering.

This is making the emotional ability to deal with likelihood of his death very difficult. But to make it worse I am away at college ~1000 miles away. So I can't even be there to be with him and say goodbye during the likely last days of his life. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts. As our family is having a difficult time dealing with this. Thank you.

But even with these difficult circumstances my family is finding light in knowing that this old man is going out in love and as he was his whole life... spoiled rotten.
