When did you lose Bronson?
I lost my baby and my best friend today. Bronson is a boxer who just turned 7 on September 29. He's been sick for the last 3 months - we've run every test known and he had surgery on Friday. I saw him Friday and Saturday. Saturday was the best - as soon as he saw me he wagged his little tail and smiled - he was happy to see him mom. It was the best feeling in the world to see those big brown eyes happy again. His dad and I stayed with him for about an hour, leaving him there to stay on the IVs he needed, but promising to be back Monday so that we could bring him home... All weekend I got everything ready so that when he got home all I had to do was spend time with him. I lie awake Sunday night wondering if I should go to the vet first to see him and then just be late for work, but decide against it to allow me to leave work earlier that day to bring him home. But at 9:33am this morning I got a message from his vet to give him a call on Bronson and I knew something was wrong. When I called back the girls sounded somber and put the doctor on the phone-he said that he was so sorry but Bronson passed away this morning around 8am. He said he was in and he was breathing at 7:30 but when he called back Bronson was gone.... My heart is so heaving, I miss him so much. He's been the center of my world since he was 8 weeks old. He's always been there to cuddle with went things went wrong and my arms are empty along with my heart. I just wish I could have been with him in the end so that he didn't feel alone or abandoned (he'd been at the vet's office for almost a week). I wish he could have come home one last time. I hope he knows how much he was loved and that I would have gladly switched places with him. He will always and forever be my baby Bronson...
