Snickers and Me!

My best friend was a 9 year old Beagle. He brought our family so much love, caring, loyalty, and taught us the most important thing of all. unconditional love!

I've had many pets in my life and have always been saddened terribly by their loss but NOT like this.

He knew everything about me... funny, we had many talks. I do believe he understood me. By his actions towards me he showed me even when I wasn't very lovable that he LOVED me MOST!

I never had a Beagle and sometimes they did smell, but of course we said he's stinky in terms of endearment. I even had a bottle of pet perfume. He loved his sister Maggie who is a Shih - Poo and misses him terribly, she is getting so spoiled. We also have 4 cats and a rabbit they each loved him.

Snickers had no idea he was living with different species of animals they all were DOGS to him. Even the ever hunted rabbit. Her name is Snowball.

Anyway the week before Christmas 14' I took him to the vet cause his paw looked hurt. He jumped off recliner and and developed a lameness (limp)
in his right paw. I expected just an x-ray and maybe a splint. Instead I was told he had Osteosarcoma and I've been numb ever since.

He made it through Christmas on heavy meds, even though he refused them. But Dec 26th 2014 we had to put him down, the pain was too great and he was refusing meds. He went downhill fast.

RIP Snickers!!!! My best friend and FUR BABY. Picked up his ashes tonight and I'm wishing it were ME instead of him. Life is very unfair. He never let us know until the bitter end that he was losing his own cancer battle no one knew about.

Your strength and memories will live on in me your Daddy, and your brothers and sisters. They are all feeling your loss. It's empty without you.

Somewhere you are here beside me perhaps? A butterfly kiss, beside Daddy's leg. We still talk to you. I confide in you even spiritually you will always know my secrets no one knows.
