Hi, I found your web site today, and wanted to let you know how much it has helped me. I lost my English Setter, Oliver last Thursday. I guess I was fortunate that I was told in the early morning that I would have to put him to sleep. He had advanced kidney disease. I made the appt for 7pm in the evening so that my husband had time to come home and be with him for a while. We have no human children.
Oliver and his brother Bailey were everything to us. I work from home so I spent a lot of time with him. It is just so hard. I always knew this day would come, and thought I was prepared. But, I wasn't. I spent all day Thursday cuddling with him and just staring at him - trying to take in all his "beautifulness".
Two things besides your website have helped me. I wrote down all my thoughts and memories in a journal, and am making a story book thru Shutterfly to capture all our memories and photos of his 13 years (and 9 months) with us. Thank you. I also wish and pray for your good health. Donna
