About our cat and the poem:
I lost my cat, Haldis, yesterday. She was 18 years old, and was a strange/special cat like no other cats I've had before, she had 20 different sounds including 6-7 different ways to say "miau". Her eyes were always looking either straight at me, or she was having this "thinking" look, half-way down on the floor many times, like something was always going on inside that head of her's.
She was extremely social, always followed me around, always nagging me to get attention, cuddling non-stop all day long (and most of the night).
She was born in my girlfriend's arms, and died there.
She is deeply missed, not just by me, but by her whole family.
Here is the poem I wrote, the first section is the words of the one(s) left behind (me), the second section is the words of the one leaving (her).
