'~~Ode to Elessar~~'

by Noel Cielo
(Oceanview, Hawaii)

I wrote this for the loss of an online friend's, Jack Russell companion, he was the last of three Jack Russells she raised.

~~Ode to Elessar~~

My life was one of joy and adventure
Home on your lap was my sweetest pleasure
My Dear Mistress, you I adore
Please dry your tears, this I implore.

I may lay in the earth, but I run with the wind
Freedom finally, from the pain I was in.
Mother and sister give me company
We're the same little rascals we used to be.

Remember always the silly things that I'd do
Just to hear that mommy voice I got so used to
How happy I am for this life I had
For one who loved me even when I was bad.

I'll always be near you in your sacred space.
As I stand guard over this special place.
In the quiet of your night by candle flare.
Soft near your heart, I'll be sitting there.
