You did a good thing for yourself by writing about your loss. You did an even braver thing by writing publicly. It brought tears to my eyes. Having gone through something similar, I felt I was right there with you and your Mom.

It will take awhile, but you will start to heal. When you are ready for another pet you will know it, but do not let anyone force your decision before you are ready. You sound like a perfect pet owner. All the best.
