Your Pet Tributes

'Marty'

by Kevin B
(Mount Laurel, NJ, USA)

You came into my life as a rescue and showed me what true love was... and what true rescuing was like. I'm not sure I loved another living thing in the same manner that I loved you.

It's been over a year now since we parted (16 Jan 2017) and I think of you every day. Every day until my last breath I will continue this pattern. I am highly spiritual but as a human I find that I can only be highly flawed in all manners of thought and logic that only the universe knows. I know what exists in front of my face and can only surmise as to what is beyond this place where I currently live, and will likely live for the next several decades. Knowing that one day I will reach that place, I certainly hope that my flawed logic is at least partly correct where I believe that I will one day see you again in whatever definition of "see" the universe dictates.

After the grief of losing you and realizing just what you meant to me, I cannot begin to exclaim enough the joy the thought of you, being there when my days are complete, brings me. You were truly a best friend in many good days and during a significant number of bad ones. I do not know how or when or IF I can ever repay you for what you brought to me. But I do relish the thought of one day being able to do such a thing.

I miss you beyond belief. What I'd do for another day.

If somehow in your post-doggie-on-Earth life/existence you can magically read this website (and understand it in English?), keep an eye out for Bubbles the cat. She passed last Friday and her mom is bereft. I do hope you two can put aside your dog/cat fervor and become good friends. (here I am wondering if a post-life-dog can read something from a screen created by man in the 20th century... ha).

I always wondered what you were dreaming of when you were visibly dreaming laying next to me, "running" while laying on your side sound asleep (best thing ever) - some "experts" (what truly do they pretend to "know"?) say dogs dream of their owners. I hope in the eternal sleep you are currently involved in that we are together in some form or fashion. And when/if I'm ever lucky enough to cross your ether again, I get to meet your mom and dad and hear all about your life before I was lucky enough to adopt you.

I love you buddy. I hope you're getting all the treats and naps you've ever wanted.
