What a lovely story that was touching. One day...one day you will come together and things will get better. I know how you feel, been there done that, even though it hurt. My pet is up there somewhere peaking through the clouds saying HI there! I miss you so much, and thank you for all the times you gave me lunch!
Our last night together by: Don
I am about to be separated from my daily companion of nearly the last 10 years. My sweet little girl Jessie or Jessie May as me and my wife call her. A truly loveable yellow Lab.
Tomorrow she goes in for an ultrasound but I know in my heart she is very sick and probably won't be coming home. I've known this for a few days. It all started to go downhill so fast. Less than a week ago she was normal, fetching balls, her greatest passion, going for walks, eating.
I am periodically just overcome by waves of overwhelming grief. Crying uncontrollably, unable to talk. But somehow I have to suck it up for tomorrow and face my responsibility with courage and dignity. Please pray for us. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss; both always knew how much you loved them by: Barbara
Both of your dogs were absolutely beautiful and I am certain they are both very happy to be together again. It must be hard not being able to say goodbye at the end, but I am sure that both of your dogs knew you loved them because you showed them everyday, and when you are all together again, you can hold them and tell them how much you love them forever.
I agree that it is important to wait before getting another pet, the grieving process takes time and it wouldn't be right to jump right back in and adopting another pet until you are absolutely ready. We just had to euthanize our cat, just five days before Christmas and within 3 hours someone told me about a cat that needed a home, if I could take it and I didn't know what to say, so I said nothing (I was a little shocked at the question). I know there are sooooo many cats out there that need homes, but it wouldn't be right to the new cat or to us or to the memory of beloved Leo if we got another cat too soon. Leo was thrown away by his previous owners and he almost died, but allowed us to find him so we were able to show him what it is truly like to be part of a family and to be loved and cared for. We also have three dogs, two mixed black labs and a papillon mix, all from shelters.
Take care and God Bless and again, they both know how much you loved them, words are just for us, but actions speak louder than words, and you loved them every day, this is what they know.
My condolences by: Brittany
I am sorry to hear about your loss. They both look like they were lovely dogs. I have a Lab myself who is getting up there in age. Just know they had full lives. I hope you are okay. My thoughts are with you.
