Your Pet Tributes

'Dakota'

by Marybeth
(Thornton, CO, USA)

Dakota & Lexi

Dakota & Lexi

Dakota - you are and forever will be the love of my life. Honestly, you are my soul-mate, my protector, my friend, my travelling buddy, my child, my laughter, and my joy. You got me in every way and your unconditional love and acceptance were one of the greatest blessings for me.

I feel so honored to have had you in my life and that I was allowed to take care of you. I knew the time was short, but I thought I'd have more. Please forgive me for all my mistakes. Please know I loved and love you so much. Lexi and I miss you - I'm so glad she got to know you.

The house is empty without you - I didn't know the complete and immense presence you had in my life and now that you're gone - the color is too. I miss your soft ears, the look in your eyes, the way you howled at that Bob Segar song, the feel of your fur, the warmth of your soul.

I'm glad you're not in pain anymore from the aches and pains of aging. I'm glad you're now able to run and roll in the grass again. Your grace, dignity and patience taught me so much. I love you. Hope your spirit visits me often.

Until we meet again, Mom.
