Real Life Rainbow Bridge Stories

'Anew Again - R.I.P. Duke'

by Janet Morgano
(Boynton Beach,Fl)

I lost my best friend of 10 yrs, a Great Dane named Duke, over Labor Day weekend this year (2010) and I thank this website for all the information it has on just about everything you need.

I went through all the stages of grief and I am happy to announce that I am at peace with my loss, I have his urn with me everywhere I go & I will never forget him. It has been hard but knowing one day I will see him again, gives me great comfort.

I wondered if I would ever be able to love again & my answer came today. I prayed that if it was meant to be & I got an email that night. I know my prayer was answered.

I am the proud owner of a female version of my Duke, we have very similiar backgrounds & I am confident that Duke is smiling on the both of us. I miss Duke soooo, but his legacy lives on in me & I will never forget. (the tears are forming in my eyes.)

So for all who have recently lost a pet, please know that not only are my heartfelt prayers with you, but give yourself time to grieve, & know that it is possible to love again. (so many pets need adoption as well as children.)

God bless, Janet
