“Your blood is but royal”, a quote I used to make in front of Jamie and the other dogs. It was said in fun because the other three are so much larger than you and it would make Jamie laugh. Queen Elizabeth loves Pembroke Corgis and has several, I was jokingly using English humor to try and make you feel special. Just by remembering these little things is making me smile again when I think of you. You brought so much joy and happiness to our little family. Your memory will continue to do so.

Today Jamie looked so sad, as if he were drowning in sorrow. We both know what a good swimmer he is, he has not been swimming since you left. Maximus, he needs your help now, maybe a sign of some sort. He will know it is ok to move on when you give it, a certain noise, a dream, a sudden gust of wind with your presence. He misses and loves you so much, I know you want the pain he is feeling to go away. I did manage to get a smile and a laugh out of him today but it was fleeting. He sits at the table quiet and sad looking at your urn.

We received some real nice sympathy cards in the mail today. You were loved by many and always will be. This entry is painful, might be the last for a while. The rest of our family needs me. Thor is not himself either, he seems so sad. He just doesn’t have that perkiness he had when you two would run out the door or up the stairs together. I know he will get better with time.

I miss you and love you with all my heart and soul little Maximus!!!!
