Dear Wendy,

When I read that you still called out her name as if she were there I think thousands of pet owners understand and experience exactly the same thing after the loss of their loved one.

I too have lost my lovely 2 doggies, Zeusy and Shimma and some days I think I too must be going crazy as I still call them the way I did when they were here with me, I would call out ''Shimma Dimma Limma, Zeusy Juicy, Lucy'' and I still do it now and pretend they are still here and I also pretend that they are here for their food and I go through the 12 year motions as I did before. My other 2 doggies Lola and Wolfie look at me as if I'm nuts, but I don't care in my heart and mind they are still with me, Shimma laying outside by the french windows and Zeus snoring in the conservatory in his bed.

You are not crazy, just mourning and pining for the loss of your loved one and I know exactly what you are going through.

I'm so so sorry for your loss and pain but you are not alone...

Dear Wendy:

It will be two weeks tomorrow (Oct. 27/10) that I put my precious baby Dutchess to sleep. She was a beautiful Calico and was 20 years old. We had her for 15 years.

I called her "Babe" and "Pretty Giri" and she knew both names.

I am sorry for your loss.

This is my second cat I put to sleep. I put Muffin AKA Muffi to sleep on June 21/10. She was the baby at 15 years old. We had her for 15 years. A black and white kittie.

I still have Bart who is 20 years old. We have had him for 16 years and I call him "Bubbi" and "Bubs". Have no idea how I came up with it.

I miss them both so much and it does not take much to start crying. Including now as I write this.

Think of the love she gave you and her face and all the joy she brought.

Take care and God bless.

Cathy
