Your Pet Loss Stories

'Bonnie'

by Manda
(Birmingham)

I first had my miniature Yorkshire Terrier when I was 8 years old, so over 15 years now she was a strong little dog, never had to take her to the vets even when she suffered broken ribs. Bonnie lived till she was 23 human years, she slowly started to lose her hair and she went fully blind and deaf but she was still stronger than ever! Eating, drinking going to the toilet.

Monday night I was downstairs and I heard a massive bang I looked round and she was lying on the floor I think she hit with some force and broke her neck! Her heart was beating for 10 min but I knew she was gone, this is he hardest thing that's ever happened to me. All I feel is sick, can't eat, can't sleep I'm crying all the time and most of all I feel it was my fault because I left her upstairs. I really don't know how I'm going to get over this she was such a big part of my life.
