Your Pet Loss Stories

'Cupcake'

by Kendra Olson
(Wisconsin)

She was my best friend. The thing that when I was down I could go to and she would make me smile. She took the place of my other cat Cookie when she died at the age of 17.

Cupcake was here on earth for 2 years and nine months. Yesterday was the most hardest day of my life. It was the day I had to make the hardest decision. She was diagnosed with liver failure, which we could of tried to treat her but her levels were way too high they didn't think she would make it if we tried, and she was way too weak for surgery.

So my baby girl was sent to heaven last night. It kills me knowing that she was really sick and there was nothing I could do. I'm happy she's not in pain anymore but I'm in the pain now. She gave us a little sign last night saying she's still here. She was the only one who would knock the towels into the toilet and when my grandma woke up this morning there were towels in the toilet.

I miss my Cupcake so much but I know she's not in pain and in a better place with Cookie and Ashley. Just wish it wouldn't of happened so soon. My dogs and cats are grieving, my one dog sits and the door or the cat carrier waiting for her or at the house door.

We love you Cupcake you'll never be forgotten.
