Fred
by: Margaret Handy-Williams, Dartmouth, NS, CA

You did the right thing. That is what my Veternarian told me when I put my Allie Cat to sleep 4 years ago. Allie was eight and the sweetest cat. Her hind legs were going on her. She could could barely walk.

It's only natural for you to wonder.. because we relentlessly will do anything to help our beloved pets. I went through with that with my precious Spike, our yellow lab dog we lost over a year ago. I was in total denial that he wouldn't be with us much longer. So we ask ourselves, if we just hang on (our efforts to make them feel good will pay off), something will turn for the better. But at the same time, we are afraid if they don't (get better) we're putting unnecessary pain on our pets. Then the decision comes, we need to accept our precious pets and let go, and to say our good-byes. Then later, we go through the 'what-if's'

You're instincts - as difficult as it was - helped you make the right decision.

You and Baby Fred will be great friends in hearts.

Margaret - hugs

You did the right thing

You showed Fred how much you loved him and did not want him to suffer, please know that he crossed the rainbow bridge and when the time comes you will see him soon. He's happy playing in meadows of grass with the angels looking over him.
