Your Pet Loss Stories

'Pepper' <3

by Shannon

My dog Pepper was a great dog that my sister originally got for her birthday. It was supposed to be only her dog. But we couldn't stand seeing her and not being able to play with her because she was such a great dog.

On my 12th birthday I noticed she was very weak and her ears were very white and her gums were also. We took here to the vet and they told us it was most likely cancer. I had to hear that on my birthday. She passed away 3 days later. I cryed and prayed every night for her.

The night before her death I slept with her on my living room floor because my parents told me she might not make it through the night. I skipped school that day. I keep track of her death every month on a piece of paper under her photo taped to my desk. I also made a box with a picture of her, a cross, heart, and the letter p. They were silly bands. Also her last pill bottle and her clippings of her fur before she passed away.

Almost every night I go to sleep thinking about her and start crying. I have 3 dogs now and it makes me sad to think that they're going to pass away one day like Pepper. The worst part of her death was that my mom said she was getting better and she was going to get a check up. I begged to go with but my parents said no. I never told her goodbye. They took her to the vet and when they came back Pepper wasn't with them. She stopped breathing waiting on her turn to see the vet. They put her to sleep shortly after.

No one really understood and still don't understand how I feel. I can't even put it into words. Pepper I love you so much and I miss you! I hope your partying with Jesus! I will be with you soon baby girl!
