Such a beautiful girl
by: Jo

Diana, I have owned loved & lost 2 Dobies & can totally understand how you feel. The picture of Leya made me laugh so much. She looks like she's having a great time at her party. She looks just like my precious angel Amber who was put to sleep at the ripe old age of 14 1/2 in June 2011. Unfortunately I shall soon be experiencing that loss once again as my beautiful Doberboy Homer has just been diagnosed with DCM. They are such a wonderful breed who are generally misunderstood but us dobie owners know them for what they are, the most wonderful breed of dog in the world, gentle, loyal loving old cuddlebugs. Take comfort knowing that you gave her the best life you could & gave her all the love & cuddles this wonderful breed demands from us owners.

You can't beat yourself up with guilt....I just lost my Katie Beagle yesterday.....we had just come back 2 days earlier from seeing property we had purchased. It was a wonderful trip for Katie....I took her to the vet friday because she just didn't seem *right* he did bloodwork, then immediate emergency surgery, and removed a *huge* tumor from her liver. She made it through the surgery (I was with her when she woke up) but didn't make it through the night.....I realize I should have seen the signs, she had other lumps, and 2 growths removed a few years back....but I didn't (or I didn't want to) because that would have meant I knew she was dying. I feel her everywhere I look, I expect to see her rolling around *good morning mommy* and her dish looks sooooo empty. They're in a better place, with no pain.....and they are waiting for us....cry not sad tears for their loss, but happy ones because they shared their lives with us.....and loved us unconditionally.....

Remembering Leya
by: Anonymous

I have just read your tribute to Leya. First I want to thank you for your letter to me when I lost Starr . I know how you felt and are still feeling when you lose your best friend Leya was a lovely girl and so lucky to have had a wonderful family who loved her so much. Your photos of her are wonderful for you to treasure we also marked Starrs birthday every year the 26th of December this is our first year without her.

All we can really do is remember them with love and know we gave them a good live. There are some poor dogs that do not get that. My thoughts are with you and I hope the pain will ease with time. It is very hard to come to terms with and it will take a long time to get over.

Pat
Thank you so much for reading about Leya and for your kind and consoling words. It really made me happy to hear you thought she was a beautiful girl.
She had such a beautiful soul too. Such a gentle girl, just full of love to share with me.
It really helps to know that others understand and are with us in our grief.

Bless you for taking the time to try to help us through this....

Diana
