Your Pet Tributes

Snoopy is the first and only dog in my life. He was the best dog, my best friend and companion for eleven years & eight months.

On 8/20/20012 I took Snoopy to our vet. He suddenly seemed to be losing weight and he wasn't interested in eating his breakfast. Our vet took an x-ray and saw a mass in Snoopy's abdomen pushing on his spleen and liver. They also did blood work that came back conclusive, it was cancer. They told me that Snoopy would let me know when it was time. He wouldn't want to eat anymore. He actually never stopped eating, he was just slow eating breakfast. I was giving him a pain pill twice a day but I could see him deteriorating and I couldn't bear it any longer.

On 9/13 at 3:30 I took Snoopy to the vet's office. I stayed with him the whole time. I brought his bed and we sat on the floor, I didn't want him on the metal table. Snoopy's vet and his two assistants stayed with me, they were all so very kind. Then I had my final alone time with Snoopy.

My heart is broken. I cry every day. Our house seems so empty without him. I had a wooden urn made with his picture on it. It came out nice. When we went to the breeder back on 3/24/2001, he was the last puppy left. That was our good fortune. We got the pick of the litter. He was the best dog. He was my best friend and loyal companion. I'll miss him all the days of my life.
