Your Pet Tributes

'Snowie'

by Sush
(Fbd)

Snowie strutted around the street like a queen and growled at anyone who dared to come near her house. Neighborhood knew our house as Snowie’s house and my folks as Snowie’s mom and dad. She had food only if mom made it and served her. People she loved couldn't get past the main door till she had had them stroke and kiss her to her satisfaction. She bared her teeth to imitate our smile and her innocent black twinkling eyes always sought love.

She went marathoning around the house to declare her excitement. That ritual was repeated if you just stepped out of even the shower. People she didn't like wouldn’t dare to touch the main door anyway. No one, absolutely no one could touch her things, her bed, her quilt, her biscuits and even her parents. On killing a rat, she boasted her achievement on our return from office and expected a reward.

Three month ago, our baby went away suffering from Pyometra. It still hurts a lot and we can still feel her presence in the house. She was only seven and the vacuum that she left behind is unbearable for us. I really wish she is reborn as a little girl somewhere with bright twinkling black eyes and is being loved as much.
