About Bramble

Bramble my Little Male Mini Lop Bunny.

When did you lose Bramble?

Bramble was put to sleep about 5 weeks ago. He was very sick and getting thinner and weaker. I found out that he had intestinal cancer and his little body had lost the ability to absorb what he needed to from his food. He was slowly to death and there was nothing that could be done.

At which stage of pet loss grief do you feel you are currently at?

I am at the beginning because it has left me very depressed. I feel horribly guilty. I feel like an absolute monster for having him put down. I also feel that it happened to him because I did something wrong and was a terrible bunny parent and pet owner. Maybe I did not feed him enough. I have another bunny and I have become totally neurotic about her health.

Karen and Bramble's Story so far

I remember the first time that I saw little Bramble. Nobody was sure whether he was a Dwarf Lop or a Mini Lop. Both his parents were Dwarf Lops but he was such a tiny baby. I had just lost a bunny and did not another one for a while. It was love at first sight.

They had put him in with some Netherland Dwarf babies because he was so much smaller than the other Lop babies of his age. The staff at the Veterinary Clinic where he was bred did not want him sat on. He had a wonderful little personality which was obvious from the beginning. He stood out from the other little rabbits with him. They were nervous and ran away when people approached but he wanted to be friends with everyone.

I was enchanted by a little furry charmer. He has always made up for what he lacked in size with a beautiful little personality.
