Rainbow Bridge (Leo's Song)

by Therese
(Victoria, Australia)

Our cat Leo was tragically killed by a car a couple of days ago. I am a singer songwriter and wrote this song for him. I thought it might also help others who are looking for comfort in their grief.

Rainbow Bridge (Leo's Song)

There is a place
Far away from here
Just how you get there
Is so unclear

And I dearly pray
That you found your way
To the other side
Where there's no need to hide

So just follow the river of colours
Don't be afraid there are others

(Chorus)

Just cross the bridge, and find a brush
Lie in the sun, maybe chase a crush
And wait for us there,
One day we will appear
We will meet again
My little furry friend

So don't be sad
Or regret that day
We understand
You didn't want to leave that way

And we wont forget
How you brightened everyday
How you made us laugh
How you made us play

So don't look back just walk on ahead
We promise we will never forget

(Chorus)

So just cross that bridge, and find your place
Do all the things
You were afraid to face
And wait for us there
For one day we will appear
We will meet again
My little furry friend

And know every day we will miss you
Our hearts are so heavy without you

(Chorus)

So cross that bridge, and don't look back
We know your safe, amongst the pack
And we'll think of you
Every single day
Our little friend
This is not the end

Loved Leo's Song
by: Renee Hartman

Utterly lovely!! Wish I could hear the music score to the lyrics.

I'd like to share the poem that I wrote 2 days after the passing of my beloved Khan 7 years ago on October 5th, at 4:30 am, at home, on my bed, in my arms. I will always remember the day, and exact time, because I sat silent vigil with my beloved from the time he started going down, all the way until the very end when he turned his head to me and uttered his goodbye cry that has broken my heart to this day, and probably the rest of my life.

The poem that I wrote in memory of Khan, is one that I had no way of knowing that 6 years later I would be turning it over to a most talented and sensitive musician who is a fellow member of soundclick.com, just as I am. On my page you will be able to listen to Khan's song as you watch the cats slideshow. On his artist page you will find a number of songs that we have written together.

The title of Khan's song is "In Memory of Khan".

You may reach me at phantomstarchild001@yahoo.com if you wish. I would be glad to hear from you.

That was absolutely beautiful.... it made me cry... it was so eloquent and heart wrenching....it encapsulates all the emotions I've been going through now for two weeks....

Thank you for posting that, it is truly a comfort.
