Always Missing You Jakey
by: Vicki

Thanks for your understanding comments, I have honestly felt that I am the only one ever to have gone through this heartache. Although logic tells me that Jake is no longer suffering and he is now in a more peaceful and better place, it is the absence I am finding really hard to deal with.

Even the task of clearing up my little girls' crumbs after eating makes me so upset and I break down in tears when I have to hoover up as Jake adored this task-filling his tummy AND helping his Mummy.

We picked Jake's ashes up on Christmas Eve and the relief I felt, knowing he was home for Christmas and with me forever more made the day go a little bit easier, even do-able. I constantly look at his portrait we had painted of him, looking proud and regal and know he will always be with us.

Condolences

Vicki,

My heart goes out to you and your husband. Jake sounds like one smart, loving pup--still is, just in a new place. The emptiness in the house that he's gone: I can relate so well to that. There's just no replacing someone you love, what they brought you ... but, just as you said, you do have to be strong for the others in your life. In time, that strength will come easier. For now, I hope you will remember the many good times Jake brought you ... and that you brought him. I hope you will also draw comfort from knowing that you will see him again.

God bless.

Joe

Time will heal eventually
by: jenny

I do feel for you. It's raw grief at the moment. The best thing I found was just a good friend (an animal lover) to make you a cup of tea and sit with you and just hold your hand and let you cry and talk about your lost companion. Someone who can give you time and company and understanding.

Also I have found so much comfort in this wonderful, sad but inspiring website. You can also contact animal samaritans to talk to someone. Everything you feel is real and just shows what a kind, gentle person you are. Nothing wrong with that, is there? Your darling little dog must have had a wonderful life with you. You just miss him, but part of him will always be in your heart.

God bless xx
