Missing Paco
by: Bonnie

I am fortunate enough to have known Paco, and I miss him, too. Sonja, I know this must have been difficult for you to write, but I think you have taken steps toward healing by doing so. You will never stop missing him, or feeling guilty, even though I (and everyone else) will tell you that it was not your fault.

Some pets come into our lives and bond with us in ways we never could believe possible. It's as if they have a human spirit contained inside an animal body. Finding them is like finding a soul mate. It is a real connection that shapes who you are as a person. You know how fortunate you are to have shared this bond with Paco.

Paco, is not gone, not completely, because of that love, he will always be a part of you.

Paco
by: Kathy

It's been 5 months since my "Shadow" was put down. No matter how they die, we always think of ways we might have saved them or kept them healthier. You're no different. You and he were very close. Paco doesn't want you to be miserable. You must believe that because he loved you.

It's been 5 months since my "Shadow" is gone and I can never replace him, but I eventually knew I could love another dog. That dog came to me a few days ago from a wonderful family who just couldn't keep her any more and I didn't have to pay a penny. Allie is my new companion and I don't know what I'd do without her. My "Shadow" must have sent her to me to keep me company.

Paco The Brave & Loved
by: Deborah

As I sit here with little Cisco, who I am so in love with, in my lap, my heart aches for you Sonja. The love and devotion and connection you & Paco had was so very special, I guess you know that. But I have never seen one so strong before.

I always thought that Paco was a very lucky doggie to have you. You saved him from the crack house and gave him a glorious life of adventure and love. I wish so much that he had not been taken from you so soon, but I'm so glad he had you.

I have seen this quote (below) before and it reminds me of you because your incredible love for Paco shows that you are truly awakened.

Love,
Deborah

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. "

(Anatole France)

Paco was a wonderdog!
by: Ron Graham

Before his life so tragically ended, Paco achieved legendary status in the hiking, climbing, and canyoneering communities of the American Southwest! I will sorely miss his presence on my lap on a cold winter's day of climbing as I am waiting for my turn to climb a top-roped route.
