Losing a beloved friend is never easy
by: Anonymous

I'm so sorry for your loss and know exactly how you feel. I put my best friend who was 11 down 3 days ago. Some people have no empathy because they have not experienced the joy it is to have a pet as a companion. Pets are more than a pet, they never pass judgment, love you unconditionaly no matter what or who you are. So once again, I'm sorry for your loss of your beloved friend. May you find peace in knowing your pet is happy and pain free now and watching over you.

Your Cinnamon

I really loved what you wrote about your Cinnamon and you are in such a right spot here on this site. I lost my Jasper 2 months ago (a big orange tabby, 2yo) and it felt like a piece of me left as well. I too have had similar reactions from people who simply don't understand the depth of grief we experience. There is no "replacing" and there is no "just" in any of this process.
I'll keep you and your loved ones in my prayers. Hope to see more stories about your furry loved ones.
Peace always.

Abby Cinammon Fluffy
by: Linda

I understand you both completely Abby and Cinammon are just like our children. I lost Fluffy last Tuesday 14 June 2011. She was my baby, my little angel. So you both are going through what I am going through. Some people don't understand the connection that we all had with our pets, they were more than pets, they were our family. And yes, I have another Pom that is also missing her. He too is grieving, and yes getting another dog is out of the question. I dont want to replace my little angel. Maybe some day but for now I MISS her dearly. So you both hang in there and think of all the great memories you had with them. God bless you both.

Hole in your heart
by: Sue

I completely understand what you are saying. My Abby, who I lost last week, also left a huge hole in my heart. The most frustrating thing is how people can blow it off as nothing. Especially those who have never owned a dog. Pets have a special place in your life and when they are gone it is hard to replace. I toy with the idea of getting another dog, but it wouldn't be Abby, just at it wouldn't be Cinnamon. They are all so unique and different and you cherish them for it.

I pray things will get better for you and I pray that Cinnamon and Abby are having a good time in heaven together. I will struggle each day for a long time I know, but someday I hope it will end and all I will have is fond memories of Abby. I hope the same for you.
