It will take time but you will get through it
by: joann

I understand where you are coming from, I lost my Doberman Moxy and my Great Dane Lilly within a year of each other. They were my very best most loyal friends, it has been just over a year since my first loss(Lilly) and 6 months for Moxy.

I had Moxy for 13 yrs and she was my soulmate and I still cry at least twice a day > As far as people thinking you should be over it, I know how that feels too. My family loved my dogs but didn't have the bond, and I also see it in my Husband's eyes when I start to cry, he just doesn't understand.

Everyday get a bit easier than the last, and 1 day you will see you can remember without the tears, they will still come but less often, until the day comes when you can talk and maybe smile while thinking of your dog. It may not seem like that right now but I promise you 1 day it will happen.

You Are Not Alone

Dear Sarah,

I want to cyber hold your hand and tell you that I deeply feel your undescribable sorrow and emptiness. I am also going through the same intense grief as you are right now because I just lost my sweet baby Snookie 32 days ago.

Please read my pet loss story "MY BABY SNOOKIE".

What we are experiencing is a traumatic change in our life and only time will mend our broken hearts.

I could only say that because I have lost 3 other sweet loving babies in the past.

I know and what I can say for sure that eventually, you will be able to slowly accept her loss and think about her as truly a gift from God, and be always thankful for the pure love and joy your little baby gave you while here on earth.

I Know What You're Going Through

I have never been a dog lover or so I thought or even a people lover but yesterday I lost my Benn a Japanese Akita. I can't tell you what pain I'm going though I have not stopped crying, I feel as though my hearts been ripped out. I miss him so much I just want to hold him. I see his face every in my mind it's like playing a vid over and over again, it's breaking my heart.

I Understand

I understand exactly how you feel. It has been four months since I lost my beloved Boxer Lewis. The heartbreak is indescribable. We all grieve in our own way and at our own pace and how can we get over the sad loss of our fur-babies in a matter of months when they have been a part of our lives for so long.

I am sure your beautiful Holly is beside you every day and loves you dearly. Have you been to the candle ceremony? I find it very comforting, I light a candle for my boy every Monday and this Monday I will add Holly to my prayers.

We must always remember they are only a whisper away. I am so sorry for your loss, God bless.
