I know that is hard as I also had to put my dog to sleep, but just think of those wonderful 13 years that you had with your dog, and that she is not suffering anymore.

I really feel for you. I am going through the same grief myself after the completely unexpected death of my cat Jess who was only 7 and must have had a heart attack. I can only say that after not eating myself for four days, today I do feel a bit better - and am excepting that I had no control over what happened, just as you didn't.
You obviously loved your Jazz so much and did everything you could. It is a sad fact that we will nearly always outlive our pets, and although I pray I don't have to go through this again with her sister, I would still one day get other pets (last time it took me 4 years) because of the joy they bring and how they enrich our lives. I am very sorry for your loss. I know your lost. I felt the exact same way when we put our beloved Spike (our yellow lab - almost 10yrs old).
Finding Pet Loss Matters and how Bunny describes, that this feeling of being lost is normal (something you already read yourself). I didn't like being in my house for a while, it drove me nuts. But after a while you accept and smile at the places where your beloved used to play and sleep.

I lost my dog in September at 15 years old and I am still grieving. Your loss will take you through a number of stages. You have certainly come to the right place for comfort. This site is amazing.
